DropShift license agreement
The agreement you accept when you install DropShift. It ships with every download as EULA.txt; the summary helps you find your way, the agreement is what applies.
In short
- You may use DropShift on up to 3 of your own computers, for any music, commercial or not.
- Activating a key needs an internet connection once; about once a month DropShift checks the key again, and works on without a connection.
- Everything you record with DropShift is yours: no royalties, no credits owed.
- You may not share, resell or redistribute DropShift or your key, or take it apart beyond what the law allows.
- A refunded or charged-back purchase ends the licence.
The agreement
DropShift is published by Animus Vertex (https://animusvertex.com, support@animusvertex.com). By installing or using DropShift you agree to this agreement. If you do not agree, do not install or use it.
1. Licence
DropShift is licensed, not sold. When you buy a licence, Animus Vertex grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use DropShift on the number of computers stated on the product page at the time of purchase, for any purpose, commercial or not. Without a licence key, DropShift runs as a demo that replaces the output with noise from time to time. You may use the demo to evaluate DropShift.
Activating a licence key needs an internet connection: DropShift sends the key to Gumroad, the store it was sold through, which confirms the purchase and counts the activation. About once a month DropShift sends the key again to check that the purchase was not refunded or charged back; without a connection it keeps working. Each computer you activate counts towards the number of computers of your licence. Apart from the IP address every internet request carries, nothing else about you or your computer is sent. If the purchase is refunded or charged back, the licence ends and DropShift returns to the demo.
2. Your music
Everything you record, mix or release with DropShift is yours. No royalties or credits are owed to Animus Vertex.
3. Restrictions
You may not:
- copy, share, sell, rent, lend or otherwise distribute DropShift or your licence key;
- decompile, disassemble or reverse engineer DropShift, except where the law allows this regardless of this agreement;
- modify DropShift, or remove or alter its copyright notices or licence check.
4. Ownership
DropShift, its code, sound engines and design are the property of Animus Vertex and are protected by copyright. All rights not expressly granted are reserved. DropShift contains third-party components under their own licences, listed in THIRD-PARTY-NOTICES.txt; this agreement does not limit the rights those licences give you.
5. Updates
Animus Vertex may offer updates. DropShift may check animusvertex.com for a newer version when its window opens; this check sends nothing but the plugin's name and version.
6. No warranty
DropShift is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, to the extent permitted by law. Animus Vertex does not warrant that it is free of errors or that it will work with every host or system. Try the demo before you buy.
7. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, Animus Vertex is not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damage, or loss of data, arising from the use of DropShift. Its total liability is limited to the price you paid for your licence. Nothing in this agreement limits rights you have as a consumer under mandatory law.
8. Termination
This licence ends automatically if you breach this agreement. You must then uninstall DropShift.
9. Governing law
This agreement is governed by the laws of Poland, without regard to its conflict of laws rules, except where the mandatory consumer law of your country applies.
